Beau

This is what I wore today...
TO MEET MY NEW LITTLE BROTHER!

*AHEM* Everyone, this is Beau Paul.

Those gurggles and coos are his way of saying hello.

He likes you already; I can tell.

Arsenic and Old Lace

Top: Forever21;
Shorts: thrifted men's Ralph Lauren;
Tights: my drawer;
shoes: Wanted;
belt: Walmart?
worn: to the movies (The Duchess! I recommend it.)

I need a photographer. This whole 10 second timer thing is NOT working out.
p.s. I don't know why I'm clutching that Satsuma to my chest; please ignore it. (That's a Satsuma tree behind me.)

Legal Blunt

(Screen still of Uma Thurman in Pulp Fiction)

I got a haircut! I love it so much more than I did my long hair. For now, it is straight, but it will soon be wild and curly again. It is significantly more manageable, and I like that I don't have to pull my hair out of my booksack straps anymore.
Blouse: thrifted;
Skirt: H&M;
Polish: Pat on the Black by Sally Hansen;
Bruises: ITP.

Roy G. Biv

I find that makeup is often overlooked as an essential part of an outfit and a character.

I came across Karen Lazarenko's blog the other day while I was stalking fashion robot's posts. "Miss Karen" is an absolutely stunning girl with a great fashion sense, but I particularly love that she posts pictures and specifics of the makeup she wears with each outfit. Her brown doe eyes are always sheathed in gorgeous colors and thick, precise eyeliner. I love bright, colorful eye shadow, but I feel like it looks like I am trying way too hard whenever I wear it. Miss Karen does it effortlessly and beautifully. I would never look at her and think that her makeup is excessive; it's just gorgeous. I am jealous.
Be sure to check out her blog, I Am Not Anti-Social, Just Short-Sighted. It's filled with really cool images, a lot of them from the 60s and 70s, of the things that run through her mind. I love to look at the pictures she posts.

It's a gray area.

Dress: Urban Outfitters;
Socks: American Apparel;
Cardigan: Target;
Awkward pose: yeah, sorry.
I wore this to a surprise birthday dinner for one of my classmates. There were a couple other girls in dresses and skirts, but there were also a lot of girls in t-shirts. Personally, dressing up is a lot more fun.
